Climate Change Impacts on Groundwater Recharge in Cold and Humid Climates: Controlling Processes and Thresholds

چکیده
Long-term changes in precipitation and temperature indirectly impact aquifers through groundwater recharge (GWR). Although estimates of future GWR are needed for water resource management, they uncertain cold humid climates due to the wide range possible climatic conditions. This work aims (1) simulate impacts climate change on regional a (2) identify leading significant long-term GWR. Spatially distributed is simulated case study southern Province Quebec (Canada, 36,000 km2) using budget model. Climate scenarios from global models indicate warming temperatures wetter conditions (RCP4.5 RCP8.5; 1951–2100). The results show that annual increases >+150 mm/yr or winter >+25 mm will lead significantly higher expected decrease if lower than these thresholds. Significant produced only when exceeds +2 °C. Temperature >+4.5 °C limit increase +30 mm/yr. provides useful insights into assessment climates, thus helping planning decisions as unfolds. be comparable those other regions with similar post-glacial geological environments

Coupled modeling approach to assess climate change impacts on groundwater recharge and adaptation in arid areas
The effect of future climate scenarios on surface and groundwater resources was simulated using a modeling approach for an artificial recharge area in arid southern Iran. Future climate data for the periods of 2010–2030 and 2030–2050 were acquired from the Canadian Global Coupled Model (CGCM 3.1) for scenarios A1B, A2, and B1. These scenarios were adapted to the studied region using the delta-c...

Effect of climate change on outdoor thermal comfort in humid climates
BACKGROUND Galicia, in northwest Spain, experiences warm summers and winters. However, the higher relative humidity that prevails the whole year through and the location of the summer hot points are related to real weather heat stroke in the hottest season. However, Planet Global Heating was recently analyzed for the climate in Galicia. Climate change was found to be able to trigger effects tha...

Among the important challenges facing water resources of the country, one can mention the phenomenon of climate change and its impacts. The General Circulation Models (GCMs) can provide the best information about the response to increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases. Since the outputs of this model do not have sufficient time and space accuracy for studies on the effects of climate c...
